Today, I presented my platform program at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Waterbury to the afterschool children. We discussed the importance of liking who you are and always staying true to yourself. Many girls realized that it is ok to be different..ex: wear glasses, being short, being tall, liking math. We also talked of how to stand up for yourself and not care too much what others think of you as long as you are happy with yourself. We then recited the “Promise” pledge and learned a dance to Miley Cirus “s song “Nobody is Perfect”. Fun was had by all!
Today I rode in the Memorial Day parade in Hamden with the lovely Morgan Amarone, Miss CT, and the very cute Rising Stars, Natalia, Madison, Emmie and Renee:). Thank you Steve Smith of Steve Smith Photography for once again driving me in your convertible in the parade. You really are the best!! Today was a little bittersweet because this was my last parade as MCOT…but it was a beautiful, hot day and I was honored to share this day with all the veterans for their special day of remembrance.

The Miss ConnecticutScholarship Corporation had its first golf invitational at Blue Fox Run in Avon, CT. We raised over $10,200!!! Morgan and I rode around in golf carts most of the day taking pictures with each foresome. We also ran the raffle which was also a huge success. Thank you goes to Mary Ann Gienty for all her hard work, expertise and dedication to this event. The success of this event was due to a team effort by Mary Ann, the CT Board, state and local titleholders, family and friends.
I was asked by my friend, Joe from the Animal Rescue Foundation in Terryville to perform at the half time show for a charity basketball game at Wolcott High School. The Wolcott Police Dept played against the Wolcott Fire Dept to raise money to support Ruth Fortier who lost her home, son and cat in a devastating house fire a last month. Alexa Farrell and Cheyenne O’Donnell also were part of the show. Emily Audibert, Miss Wolcott 2012, was also present to show her support.
Today I spent a wonderful afternoon at the Italian Primavera Show at the Norwich Free Academy in Norwich, CT. I was asked to perform a dance for the show which I always enjoy doing as well as watched and listened to the talented voices of Aaron Cruso, Ray Suntino, and Graziana. I was able to meet all of them after the show. So honored!! I am half Italian and my grandparents on my mother’s side were full Italian. The songs that were performed reminded me of when they watched me growing up and played all these songs and danced in the living room. What great memories!! All of my fellow title holders did a wonderful job performing. Another great event.
Make new friends,
But keep the old.
One is silver,
And the other, gold.
A circle’s round
It has no end
That’s how long
I’m gonna be your friend.
A fire burns bright,
It warms the heart.
We’ve been friends,
From the very start.
You help me,
And I’ll help you
And together
We will see it through.
The sky is blue
The Earth is green
I can help
To keep it clean.
Across the land
Across the sea
Friends forever
We will always be
A GIRL SCOUT SONG ;)
